ReddID
ReddID is a blockchain-based social identity and tipping system created by the Reddcoin (RDD) team. It was designed to make sending and receiving digital tips across social platforms fast, simple, and accessible to everyone.
With ReddID, users can create a unique, human-readable username that links directly to their Reddcoin wallet. This allows anyone to send RDD tips across participating websites and social media platforms with just a click — no long wallet addresses, no technical setup, and no steep learning curve.
Evolving Beyond the Original Plugin
ReddID originally launched as a browser plugin that allowed users to tip across social platforms using a simple, intuitive interface. While this early version proved that seamless social tipping works and attracted a strong community of supporters, it faced several limitations:
Scalability challenges as more users adopted the system
Maintenance and compatibility issues across browsers and platforms
Complexity for new users, who needed to install and manage an extension
Limited potential for future expansion due to its architecture
These constraints made it clear that a more robust, flexible, and scalable foundation was needed for ReddID to grow.
Rebuilt From the Ground Up — In the Core Wallet
The next generation of ReddID is being directly integrated into the Reddcoin Core Wallet. This new approach solves the earlier limitations and unlocks far greater potential:
Native blockchain-level functionality instead of relying on external plugins
Improved performance and scalability for a larger global user base
Streamlined onboarding, since no browser extension is required
Greater reliability and security through core-wallet integration
A future-proof foundation for new features and cross-platform expansion
By moving ReddID into the core wallet, the Reddcoin team is transforming it from a useful but limited plugin into a scalable identity and tipping protocol that can support wide adoption.
